Library cards

Northwest Regional Library is once again offering Mobile Wi-Fi Hotspots for Checkout! These new mobile hotspots allow internet connections anywhere they can get a signal on the T-Mobile Network (coverage map seen here: https://www.t-mobile.com/coverage/coverage-map). Up to 10 devices can wirelessly connect to the hotspot to get an internet connection. 11 of these hotspots are available for circulation within the region with more on the way.

These are only available to NWRL residents with a valid NWRL Library Card. Only one hold can be placed on a hotspot at a time. If your local library does not currently have one, place a hold and one will be sent to it. They are due 14 days after checkout. If, after 14 days, the hotspot doesn’t have any holds on it, then it will automatically be renewed for another 14 days. Only 2 of these renewals will be allowed as long as no holds are placed on the item. Only one hotspot may be checked out at a time per patron. If a patron with a youth account (younger than 18) wishes to check out a hotspot, a responsible adult must be present to sign the agreement form.

Mobile hotspots must be returned directly to the circulation desk where it was checked out, during normal library hours and not in the drop box. If not returned within 14 days after the due date, the hotspot will be deactivated, and patron will be billed for full replacement value ($75). All parts of the kit need to be returned or replacement charges will be billed to the patron’s account.

The device may not work outside of T-Mobile coverage areas or in low signal locations within the area.

These wireless hotspots were purchased through the Mobile Beacon program. For more information, see here: https://www.mobilebeacon.org
