Apply for a library card

Library Cards at NWRL

Please read before submitting an application:

To apply for a card, complete the form below. A staff member will review your application and if eligible, a library card number will be sent to your email address. Your library card will be sent to you at the physical address that you enter into the application. If the library card that we sent gets returned by the postal service, your library account will be blocked. This block can be removed by going to your local library with proof of your residence at the address. If any required information is missing, or if the staff member has questions about your application, your application will be put on hold and you will be contacted at the email address that you enter into the application.

This form is for new applicants only. If you already have a library card for NWRL, please do not fill out this form. If there is an issue with your current library card, please call or email your local library branch.

This form is for permanent residents of the Northwest Minnesota region only. Only residents within the area have access to the digital collections provided by this card. The region includes only the Minnesota counties of Kittson, Marshall, Pennington, Red Lake, and Roseau. Patrons outside of the region looking to sign up for a reciprocal card, or temporary residents signing up for a temporary card will need to do so in person.
