Overdue Materials
NWRL issues reminders of overdue materials in an e-mail message or postcard. When materials are 21 days overdue, a $2.00 late fee will be added to patron accounts. Patrons are subject to the rules stated in Mn Statutes for delinquent overdue library materials.
Lost or damaged material
You will be billed the replacement cost and a $3.00 processing fee for each item you’ve lost or damaged. Ouch! Thus, it’s a good idea to keep track of the material you borrowed. Don’t drop them in the bathtub or let your dog to chew them for lunch. Don’t lose them either!
The good news: you will be refunded the replacement cost if you find the ‘lost’ material and return it to the library within a year.
The not so good news: It’s a petty misdemeanor in Minnesota to keep library material longer then 60 days after a written notice was mailed (MN Statute #609.541).
