ake your family on a modern day treasure hunt at one of our area State Parks. Use GPS (Global Positioning System) latitude and longitude coordinates to find an item that has been placed in State Parks for you to discover.
Visit your library to check-out a geocache kit to begin the adventure!
Directions:
- While at the library choose the story for the park you want to visit.
- Now head to the park in the story. If you do not have a GPS unit of your own, you can borrow one from the state park or library.
- Read the story and enter the coordinates from the story into your GPS unit.
- Follow each set of coordinates to the next, until you find the cache.
- When you find the final stage, you will receive the end of the story.
- Take you picture with the cache and show the picture to your local librarian to receive a prize.
